Our new adult residential programme at The Burn - a secluded Scottish Country Estate - is an experience like no other. From the sweeping driveway to the first glimpses of the mansion house appearing before you – you know you are about to experience something truly special.
The grand hall that greets you as you enter is reminiscent of a by-gone era; the sweeping staircase, the long elegant hallways, lounges, library and dining rooms add to the feeling of a grand home steeped in history and preserved for you to enjoy. The bedrooms with views overlooking the estate, as well as the art deco bathrooms, transport you back in time and offer a home from home to begin your Scottish cultural adventure.
The Burn offers an escape from the unending demands of the modern world, which is why we at International House Aberdeen have chosen this ideal location for you to immerse yourself in language and culture.
The Burn is situated at the foot of one of Scotland’s most scenic glens and the River North Esk forms the western boundary. The small Scottish estate contains an attractive Georgian mansion house that was originally built for General Lord Adam Gordon in the 1790s. Surrounding the house are spectacular grounds consisting of ancient woodland, parkland, gardens and stunning riverside walks.
Each course is bespoke and can be designed to your group’s specific interests. Below is a sample schedule which will give you a flavour of how your week could be shaped:
Each day will include an English language lesson incorporating a variety of Scottish themes: history, culture, local dialects, art, music, food and drink. Our goal is to provide you with the communication skills which will truly enhance your stay in an immersive English environment as well as equip you with the tools to communicate effectively in your everyday life.
Your full board accommodation will include breakfast, morning coffee, a light lunch, afternoon tea and a 2 course dinner. There is also a bar on site.
