The programme is based at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre, set in 14 acres of stunning native woodland in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. It was voted “Outdoor Venue of the Year 2016” by the Scottish Hospitality Industry.
Our summer programme is for young learners aged 10-14. It includes a wide range of water-based activities including sailing, windsurfing, raft building, paddle-boarding and kayaking as well as land based experiences such as mountain biking, orienteering and wildlife tours.
Our qualified English language teachers join professional sports instructors and participate in every activity to create an authentic English language immersion programme. They monitor and record the emerging language which is then developed into a 1.5 hour language review session for the students in the early evening.
Two exciting full-day excursions will ensure the students get a chance to put their English skills into practice.
They will visit Inverness, the capital of the Highlands and take a cruise on Loch Ness to search for “Nessie”, the famous Loch Ness monster, have a picnic at Urquhart Castle on the loch as well as shopping and sightseeing.
The second trip is to Landmark, a large nature-based theme and adventure park full of fun-filled activity options and challenges, where they can explore a 10,000 year old forest and be amazed by the weird and wonderful exhibits in the world’s first “Bamboozeleum”!
Accommodation is in the cosy and comfortable Insh Hall, which has three star hostel recommendation from the Scottish Tourist Board. All meals are enjoyed in the Boathouse Restaurant, which is situated on the shores of the Loch and voted one of the top five views from any restaurant in Europe!
Only £1550 per student for the full 14-day programme (including accommodation, food, activities, teaching and excursions). Edinburgh Airport transfers £45 each way.
